Chapter 2
Missing girls!
Ada Brighton. That’s all that everyone talked about since Maia’s disappearance. It had been approximately fifty-nine hours after Isla’s loss and she was still thinking about what may have happened. As she awoke from her fifteenth nightmare, something tapped her shoulder.
“Eeek!” squealed Isla, covering her head with her thick, white duvet. “Shh! You’ll wake everyone up Isla!” May exclaimed, muffling her. “What are you doing May? You scared the life out of me!” Isla replied. “I’m here to save you from Ada!” May explained telling her the story.
Ada Brighton was to kidnap whoever was Maia’s best friend… Isla. Why was May protecting Isla when she bullied her before? Isla could barely breathe. She was too scared to even move. Suddenly she couldn’t see. Everything went pitch black. A piercing bell rung loudly.
“Huh? Where am I? What’s going on?” Isla mumbled mid-yawn. She saw a field and was floating on water. How was she not getting wet? A figure appeared out of nowhere. It ran far into the field. Was that Maia? Isla ran after the figure. It turned around and shrieked.
Isla tripped over and covered her ears from the deafening sound. The figure had beady, crimson eyes and chalky white skin. Long obsidian hair trailed behind them as they sprinted down the steep hill. Isla tried to catch up but she was too far behind. What was this figure?
Isla devised a cunning plan but she required something to protect her ears. She meandered around and found saucepans. That was it! Make a louder noise! Isla found the figure and pulled its long strands of hair, bashed the pans whilst it shrieked and revealed the figure’s identity…
