Today, I woke up and was very tired. I wanted to sleep for ever! Well I couldn’t, unfortunately. We were going to go to the Sultan Süleyman Mosque and the Grand Bazaar! I had a quick shower and wore a sunflower top and nice leggings. My family and I set out and walked up a very busy street with lots of shops. It didn’t take too long so we were there in no time!
We walked up to a huge door. It looked very nice, like an old fashioned palace door. We took a photo and walked through when we just saw it. The view of the city and the sea was FABULOUS!!! Then we went in two mauseliums. The inside was lovely, with beautiful blue and white patterns swirling around the walls.
We saw the tombs of Sultan Süleyman, his wife, his son and his daughter. The tombs were huge and encrusted with jewels and carvings showing their personalities. Then we went in the Sultan Süleyman Mosque for the mid day prayer. The huge domes were beautifully decorated with intricate calligraphy and the stained glass windows were magnificent.
Next, we walked down to the Grand Bazaar. There were bags and shoes and spices and jewellery and lamps and oh everything from tea bags to opulent, silk carpets. We walked and walked through 60 narrow, bustling streets! SIXTY! Lots of walking! We were starving when we finished. We ended up buying a designer handbag for my sister, a little cup and spoon for me, souvenirs for relatives and friends and a nice, leather wallet for my dad.
Then we started to walk back when we saw Burger King. I remembered my dad said we would go there today. So we went in and ordered two beef burgers, two chicken burgers and four packs of chips with two cups of Fanta and two of Pepsi. We came out with stomachs as big as baloons. We just decided to get a little desert of ice cream to eat on our way back because we had a little room in our tummies! I slurped on my vanilla ice cream till it just became nothing! I walked all the way back home and fell right to sleep.
